Thanks all for your replies. I had a feeling it would come to this. I think I'll go down the route of making an appointment to speak to someone, it just seemed a waste of NHS time and money when what I've asked for to try, could just have been prescribed without all this fuss. I said I could trial it for a month or two and if it didn't work regarding the bladder problem then I would come off it and just carry on with ovestin.
Thanks again

The NHS could save a lot of money if they listened to their patients  >:( but so many medics don't like patients who have done Research  >:( :(

Let us know how you get on.

I note the GP is a he.... ::) Vagifem is not a controversial choice! It's a standard approach - why is he reluctant to prescribe?

Sorry to hear about your problems, I too have urge, i believe mine is due to a prolapse.

I too am going to try vagifem,  for both my problems, if it doesn't help though I'm going to try magnesium hydroxide, as that helps relax the bladder muscles.

U could see if there is a Nurse Practitioner in the Practice who often have more 'sense' than some GPs  ::)

Thanks Violet and clkd
I will look for some magnesium asap.
Clkd, in our practice you can wait over 3 weeks for both GP and nurse practitioner appointments so I might as well hold out for the GP.
Hols coming up soon so I'll try for one when I get back
