Hi ladies,
I was watching an interview with Dr. Lisa Mosconi who is a leading neuroscientist yesterday evening, you have probably heard of her, it wasn’t specifically about menopause but she answered a question I have been wondering for ages. She said that during peri menopause the brain changes significantly but the brain adapts and it’s this adaptation that makes the menopause symptoms stop.
So I was really happy to finally get my answer! I am now wondering whether my brain knows that my HRT estrogen is not coming from my ovaries; I guess it must do if the two are constantly communicating. Because upping my oestrogel does not make a significant difference to my symptoms, i still struggle for half of the month and feel good for the other half.
Also I wonder if taking HRT interferes with the brain’s adaptation and delays it. Does anyone have any thoughts on this or know of any good sources of information?
