Sadly no, the Nurse seemed more offended I was telling her how unbelievably painful the smear was and told me it was most likely VA in rather a blame type of way. It was awful. She offered no advice at all, that said at a follow up smear (different and kinder nurse) when I mentioned the pain at the last one, again no offer of advice. This is why I’m grateful for information from you all now.

It sounds like you had a bad experience with the nurse. It was very unkind of her to react the way she did. You cannot help being in pain and you would think she would have empathy. Do not worry as you will find lots of support on here now.

Thanks again ladies. Most of the nurses I have seen for whatever reason have been lovely but she was most unpleasant.

I don’t know where I’d be without this group for support to be honest.
