Left shoulder pain
« on: March 02, 2023, 09:24:45 PM »

Hi all, have had for the last couple of months a aching/burning sensation in my left shoulder blade, and it is getting me down.  Seems to get worse as day goes on, anyone else experienced this, not sure if it is due to menopause or my anxiety or both? Currently taking 37.5mg patch which I have increased recently for 25mg as tried a higher dose and was too much with side effect, any advice welcome

Morning.  A leap in patches all at once might not be a good idea - could you try 25 with adding 37.5 several times a week?  To give the body. time to uptake the extra?

As for shoulder pains, as ostetron levels drop muscles may become lax = aches and pains.  Frozen shoulder is very common at 'our age'  ::). A physio could give you gentle exercises to ease symptoms.

It's not always down to symptoms of the menopause, it can be age related muscular/skeletal issues.

Worth getting it checked out. I had a niggling ache in my right shoulder blade for 12 years. Thought it was due to me being a violinist (it’s my bowing arm) but it was spinal. Eventually my disc at C6-7 broke apart and I had to have fusion surgery as a disc fragment was resting on the nerve. Nerve pain can typically present as a burning feeling.

But for the 12 years prior to that I had regular osteopath visits, which involved massage, light traction stretches, High Velocity Low Amplitude thrusts (HVLA) and acupuncture. Worked a treat.
