Hi there, I'm going to be having a trial period on Evorel Conti.  I've been on 2 pumps of gel + Utrogestan.
Should I start with half, three quarters or full patch and work up?  Also would it be best to take a couple of days off between switching or just change straight over? Thank you for any advice!

Hi CherryC

I’m bumping your post so hopefully someone will advise.

What patch dose have you been prescribed? If it was me, I’d not take a two day break, but go to 50mcg the day after finishing your final dose of gel Eg if you put gel on in the morning, put patch on the following morning.

Hopefully others will help. Why have you decided to try the patch? Are there issues with the gel?

hi CherryC

you would not need to take a break and if youve been on 2 pumps of gel you would need a 50 mcg patch which is the equivalent to 2 pumps of gel xx

Thank you for your replies - I did go ahead and switch to the Evorel Conti patch the following morning a few days ago.  Unfortunately I've taken it off already! I had tried Evorel Conti in the past and there were some things I liked about it but I had completely forgotten about the reasons I gave up then and which came straight back - horribly restless at night and when I did eventually get to sleep, unbelievably vivid and detailed dreams, which I just don't want.
Sooooo, it's back to the gel or the patch + Utrogestan.
I wasn't sure how well I was absorbing the gel - do you rub it in or leave it to dry? There still seem to be differing opinions on that...
When I was using a patch it was Estradot - not too bad but had some mood swings and always found it crinkled up a lot.
I have never tried the Evorel patch * Utrogestan, which I may try if i don't have success with the gel. Any experiences?
Thank you x

Hi CherryC,

I’m on Evorel 75 and utrogestan and have progressed up the different sizes of Evorel over an 18 month period now and find that so far, it is the best for me. I didn’t get on with Estradot as I didn’t absorb from it properly and have never tried the gel. I note you say that the Estradot crinkled up a lot. It’s a small patch and that’s unusual as they stick very well as does Evorel ( evorel is bigger) Where are you applying the patches?

Thanks Teresa, good to hear about your experience. I tried Estradot lower tummy (as it suggests) but found it didn't stick well there. Generally had it on the top of the thigh which was better as more stretched but still found it crinkled up a bit.
