Hi All,
I have a 12cm x 10cm fibroid at the front of my uterus. I’m now approaching post menopausal, it causes me no problems apart from a little longer to pee because of its location. It’s intramural too so no bleeding issues.
I’ve just had a phone call offering me the embolization in two weeks. I was on the waiting list as a sort of ‘wait and see’. To be honest, I’m not sure I want it done now. It’s not bothering me, well, barely at all. Anyone else had similar? Is it likely to cause me problems further down the line?

Could you postpone or does that mean coming off the Waiting List?  If you are able to postpone it frees up that 'space'.  Is the 'need2P' issue likely to become worse?  Or is that like how long a piece of string might be?  Personally if I were well I wouldn't opt for surgical intervention .

Thanks for your reply CLKD. If I turn it down, I’m off the list. The need 2p is more that I need to wriggle around a bit to empty my bladder as fibroid is directly on it. Can’t see it getting worse tbh. I’m well. This is me now, post menopausal, as my hubby said ‘if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it’ 😂

I often have to gently rub below my belly button to empty my bladder fully as I can't feel urine leaving my body.  If I get up too soon

Are you on HRT? As that can cause them to grow. Personally I'd have it out. Perhaps just paranoia but I'd worry that 'odd' cells might become cancerous.

Hi Sheila99, no I’m not on HRT, just Vagifem for VA. I understand where you’re coming from. There are many considerations, and that’s one of them. My understanding is that because mine is within the uterine wall- intramural- it won’t go away totally and a good chunk will remain albeit dead tissue. Maybe there’s a risk of infection? I don’t know- so much to consider.
