Bleeding when increasing dose
« on: January 10, 2023, 01:20:21 AM »

Hi everyone-I’m just looking for some advice about bleeding when upping my Evorel patch from 50 to 75 a few weeks ago. Am 54-and totally postmeno- my menopause specialist suggested I up my Evorel to 75 and take my Utrogestan 100mg vagibally instead of orally. I did this 8 weeks ago but started bleeding 2 weeks ago. It’s nothing heavy but I’m having period cramps/some bleeding every day and it doesn’t seem to be stopping. On Evorel 50 I literally had 3 days of very light bleeding then nothing at all for 3 months. Do you think this will settle? I’m seeing my doc again in 4 weeks but this is getting me down! Could it be the estrigeb increase? Trying to give it 3 months on new regime but bleeding is getting me down.

Hello TrishG and welcome to the forum.

I had a very similar experience years ago but my patch contained both Oestrogen and progesterone ( noresthisterone Evorel 75 ).
I was advised to reduce back to a 50 patch and the bleeding resolved. I was also referred for a Hysteroscopy and all was well so it was definitely the HRT causing the bleeding.

Hopefully your doctor will have some suggestions for you but you are not alone with this problem.

Wishing you well.
