I think my last blood pressure check was 3- 4 years ago and it was normal.

My last BP check was 3 years ago, I remember it was high in the Dr surgery but checking at home I was running at an average 140/82 which at the time was considered OK.
This time it's significantly higher.
No I didn't have any bloods done. However, last year I had loads of blood tests for various issues I was having, so Dr knows w my cholesterol is good.
Good luck with the call.

Call went well and like you GP wants me to start meds. 2.5mg Ramprimil (think that’s how it’s spelt)! No bloods before starting as had these 12 months ago and kidney function all good. Having a routine ECG tomorrow at Drs. Then a blood test in 3 weeks after starting meds. Have to monitor blood pressure at home 3 weeks after starting meds to see if dose working. I am 52 with a family history of high BP and vascular dementia. Maternal grandmother died from heart attack at 65. As all my other stats good and I eat healthily, exercise a lot, don’t smoke and drink sensibly (most of time 🤣) the GP didn’t think lifestyle changes would reduce my BP enough. Obviously I will improve lifestyle further. I’m not a fan of taking meds and hope they work and I don’t get side effects 🤞 So, we are in a very similar boat.
