Hello ladies.

If there are no reports of problems and someone likes the flexibility of using gels, Sandrena may be worth a try. I think that the majority of the ladies here use the pump gels but it is possible to vary doses by simply squeezing less out of a sachet, they also come in two strengths, 0.50mcg and 1mg.

I have been using Sandrena for about two years now and I haven't noticed any changes in it's effects or in the gel's consistency. I have had various physical and emotional symptoms but they were likely due to my fiddling around with the dose lol.

Take care ladies.

K.

Well I applied 2 pumps this morning instead of 2.5! Well I felt like I’d drank too many coffees! It wasn’t pleasant! I actually thought I was going to take off to space I was that wired!!

I really think I need to go with the approach less is more!!!

MadameOvary - I’m only a few weeks into the gel, so need to try and give it chance to settle but will consider them at some point in the future.

Hi Discogirl

Yes I think I still am, but don’t know for sure as had hysterectomy but kept ovaries.

I didn’t apply my gel last night and didn’t want it to affect my sleep. Slept okay ish. This morning applied my gel, 3 hours later a massive whoosh! Felt hot panicky, heart racing, hair wet through….felt tense and jittery too! Just for 10 minutes but it was awful!!

Sure it wasn’t this bad on patches!!! But daren’t swap again!!

hi MIS71MUM

trouble with gel is that it often where you apply it how you apply it can often affect hormones as well.

ive heard sandrena can be absorbed easier.

im going to stick with the gel for a bit see how i get on.

when i first went on hrt i tried patches but didnt seem to absorb from the patches. maybe i just needed a different type of patch.

i do hope you get sorted please let me know hiw you get on xx

Thank you for your support. I’m having some blood tests this week so maybe that will show up something.

When my levels were 299 & 363, I wasn’t having funny turns in the morning, so it’s either side effects of gel or it being down to the peri-menopause!!

M1S71MUM … Hi … patch going okay, although 25 was just too low so I went up to the next size patch that the meno consultant had prescribed for me which is Estradot 37.5 last night. I’m feeling quite a lot better today so far. Thankfully the patches don’t give me that huge rush an hour or so after I apply them like the gel  did and I think fingers crossed probably for me personally this is the way forward……. Hopefully . How are you doing? Xxxx

Glad to hear it’s going okay, you are giving me hope. I need to take things a day at a time, and hopefully the craziness will calm down very, very, soon!
