Hi all 1st post!
I started hrt in June and really havent got on well with the progesterone. Femoston tablets made me very hit and sweaty and not myself, evorel sequi made me faint in work where i felt so bad. Now of utrogestan 3 days in. It really gives me erratic anxiety and obsessive thoughts. Was awake all night. Im.only taking 1 tablet as i know i will be way worse on 2 but know it doesnt meet the guidelines. Im.48 and still having periods. Ive read here that it can be used vaginally but wonder whether this is likely to make my anxiety worse this way or lessen it. I appreciate everyone is different. I did have the mirena coil about 15 years ago but also made me loppy so didnt last long. I constantly bled to.

Hello Strawbell and welcome to the forum. Some day taking ultrogestan vaginally works better for them. I am sorry progesterone is causing you so many horrid side effects. Another option is to take 2 cerezette (the mini pill) a day rather then the 1 which is used for contraception. It can take time to find one that suits.

The menopause clinic suggested it to me. You would need to take 2every single day.

Yes I did and still do. I would be so ill without them!

Hi Strawbell,

I'm sorry to say this but I think HRT can make one feel worse because the body is trying to process what's going on.  As we age, our bodies naturally produces less and less oestrogen & progesterone until things stabilise and it produces next to nothing.  Thanks to our failing ovaries when we get to a certain age.  Going back to HRT, it probably gives side-effects because it's an artificial way of supplementing our bodies to replace something that is no longer there.
