Rib pain
« on: October 29, 2022, 08:18:34 PM »

Hi ladies has anyone experienced pain around your ribs ? Left side mostly and checks done with GP and some other digestive checks completed with healthy outcomes. Was worse a few weeks back seemed to be right up my side now just at one part now but still uncomfortable and health anxiety sends me to thinking worse case scenario thanks

Hi trandall

I don’t know where you are on your menopause journey. But just to  say, shifting and sporadic aches and pains are quite a common part of menopause unfortunately.

Understandably, any unexplained pain can cause health anxiety.

Good that everything checked out ok.
I notice you say that digestive issues were looked at as well.  This might be an area you should concentrate on at present, as even minor digestive problems can cause significant symptoms which won’t always be picked up on.

I used to get a similar pain and it took me ages it was due to eating too much gluten. The pain shifted about, starting off initially with intense stomach ache and then slowly moving northwards to my ribs.

So it could  be that one of the above might be the reason for your discomfort, so just wanted to share my thoughts in the hope it might be of some use.

I had this for a while and discovered it was because I'd started using two higher pillows because of acid reflux. The position of my body changed and the weight was on my lower left ribcage when I was mostly lying on my left side, again a better side for acid reflux.
It stopped when I started taking antacids and went back to one pillow.
Just a thought....

Me me me, and no one could tell me why, like you l had different test done. I had a couple year of it, on and off for months at a time. Left and right random stabbing pains plus I’ve pulled my ribs three times for no reason at all. I’ve been doing better for about a year when a month ago, I had bad stabbing pains 3cm right of belly button over 40 times in one day. No one knows why. The joys of menopause  >:(
