TA scan
«

I have to go for a tummy and pelvic scan next week but there is no way on earth I can drink the required amount and not go to the loo for 1 1/2 hours. Last time I only had the pelvic scan and that did not require it. I can barely last 1/2 hour, and when I need to go I cannot hold it. Do I ring them and explain? Or go with an empty bladder and the procedure cannot be done correctly?

I would ring and ask them for advice. No way could I hold that much water either!

I’ve recently had one of these and only drank 1 pt they are pretty quick with scan and the loo is in same room. You can drink 1/2 pint before you leave then top up in waiting room. I found it helpful to practice holding it for several days the week before. You could also wear a Tena pad in case of leakage.
Good luck.
