Low Dose Naltrexone-anyone using it?
« on: September 05, 2022, 01:41:31 PM »

Hi folks

I’ve recently started taking low dose Naltrexone and wondered if anyone else has any experience of it?

It’s usually given to people with autoimmune type diseases such as MS, fibromyalgia and CFS etc

Lovely to hear from you if you’ve any experience.

Hi, I'm interested in this, but have a conservative GP who isn't keen on new ideas, so I haven't had the confidence to ask him.  I'm on pregabalin and duloxetine to try and help with fibromyalgia pain.
What do you take it for and is it good?

Hi newbeginnings

Thank you for the reply.
I’m taking it for chronic  Lyme Disease, which they reckon is mostly autoimmune once it becomes chronic.

I’ve only been taking it for a couple of weeks starting at 0.5mg and hoping to slowly move up to 4.5mg.

I haven’t taken it for long enough yet to comment, no worse or better really, but I am sleeping slightly better with lots of dreams.

My Gp almost gave it to me then changed his mind so I had to go private.

I think Dixion’s chemist in Glasgow keep a list of private Gp’s who prescribe it remotely, but worth starting with your own if you’re keen to trial it. X
