New glasses?  I had to ditch my vari-focals !

Cross trainer, that's serious stuff jaypo  :o.  Graham wouldn't be more choice however: not that I know who I would choose to watch  ::)

Light lunch to hand.

These are my second pair of vari focals. Using identical frames and paid for same width of vision for the reading bit - one down from the highest price. Yet I can only see clearly out of the very middle bit. They have asked me to try them for a week and booked me another eye test. I kept saying that's not the issue, the prescription is right as I can see clearly out of the middle bit, its just they haven't applied it widely enough 🙈🙈🙈 does that make sense? I don't know how to explain it, he just said thar wasn't possible as the lab checked them and they were right!!!

Oh blimey penguin, this is exactly what happened to me,it was Vision express, made me identical glasses but I just wasn't seeing properly out of them(varifocals too) they more or less told me it was my fault, long story short, went to Boots, got an eye test, glasses made, perfect

So my prescription has changed a bit, especially the reading element in left eye which has gone up by 0.5. However, that still doesn't explain why I can see out of the middle but not the sides. I'm highly annoyed with them as I questioned them on what would happen if my prescription is the same on the re check and whether they'd try and make the glasses again, and he totally hedged. Said only twice in the last however many years he's worked there has the lab made the glasses incorrectly. Their 100 day guarantee means nothing if they are not prepared to rectify mistakes and instead just tell me it isn't possible for it to have happened 🤷‍♂️

Do you mean new glasses can warp when the lenses are put in? I've got new prescription put in new frames, but I picked identical frames to last time so size / shape same etc.

A second opinion is a good idea. I have such a small space to read clearly from now it really annoying. And that is reading from a narrow phone, haven't even tried a book yet which will be wider.

I had my lens replaced into my original frames last time, having been sold new frames for many years.  No problems.

Been to the dentist, we both had an hour's treatment so are both gummy and have numb gums  ;D  :-X.  About to take Nurofen with a cuppa, fish fingers and mash for tea.  Next appt mid-December.  4 the same treatments  ::)

I had 9/10 with the hygienist but she didn't offer me a lolly  ;D

YOU DIDNT GET A LOLLY!?!?  ;D

The lens can warp when being made apparently penguin it sounds exactly what happened to me, I ended up having to hold up my spex from my nose with one hand to be able to see through the one bit I could see properly through ,they kept telling me it must be my eyes  :o

Nope.  I've had a bowl of ice cream for tea though  ;D which I left to melt first  ;)

Nurofen has worked.

My problem with 'readers' is that I have several prescriptions and sometimes get them muddled.   ::).  1 set in the car, one by the bath, the other in the camper .......  :D
