Nowt wrong with baked beans C.C. - apparently the UK eats more of them than all the World put together.  3 varieties are being trialled in the UK as they don't grow well here.  Does Maggie enjoy the company of other dogs?

Spinach reminds me of school dinners  ;D  :-X

We've run out of chocolate  :o so waiting for freshly cooked bread .......

Awww  :thankyou:  I'm sorry to hear about your Dad  :(  That's a nice tradition.

Dad is 90 and he tends to forget to eat well, he just eats what's convenient for him and it's not always a healthy choice.  In the winter, I made him soup as well and loaded it with veggies. :)

CLKD- The downside with the canned beans is that they are loaded with sodium and Dad has high blood pressure. I don't mind him eating them once or twice a week but he's eating them every day and it's not good for him.

Maggie loves the company of other dogs. I took her to try out a new daycare yesterday and she passed her assessment with flying colours.  She was visibly uncomfortable when they let 5 dogs greet her, as they all wanted to sniff her butt at the same time. She decided she wanted to sit instead lol.  Then she found the door to the outdoor playground she was gone and the other dogs followed her.  We picked her up after an hour and she was panting like a freight train.

on but I love spinach! Steamed, raw, soup in a a sarnie, whatever. Grow it in greenhouse now as a baby leaf due to the caterpillars also loving it when I grow it outside...

Am a baked beans fan too especially the low salt\sugar ones. Saw that about UK trials. I don't mind being a taste tester if they need.

And seriously? No chocolate so waiting for bread to bake? Sorry. Nothing ever ever compares as an alternative to chocolate. Ever. I shall not be swayed in my opinion despite my own love for fresh baked bread.  ;D

Thanks C.C whilst I still miss dad, it is now with a sad love rather than a painful love. He was a good man and a good dad. 😍

Maggie sounds like a rebellious ring leader showing her new woofer friends the outside playground!  Go Maggie!

Maggie : Get out of my butt or I'll sit, tnx.  My bitch would growl and snap at entire dogs in particular if they went under her tail to say 'hello'.

Woke several times during the night cold 🥶 so put on the electric blanket.

Washed, dressed, breakfast to hand.

Oh my goodness. I'm going to have nightmares for days to come  :-\
I was out with the cockapoo for his afternoon walk when, all of a sudden, heard screaming like I have never heard before. About maybe 200 metres up the road a poor cat had been hit, I presume, by a car that decided not to stop!
Thankfully someone else stopped and comforted the poor thing but it died there and then  :'(. The chap took the wee thing away to bury (was taking it to see if it was chipped first - to let the owners know).
It's a main road in our estate and there are frequently idiots that go too fast. The police often sit with their speed cameras but it seems to make no difference  >:(

Awful to see  :'( but the Puss won't have suffered for long .  At least he's getting it checked for a chip 1st.  The owners may want it back; that happened here many years ago [long story short].

We have volunteer speed-watch run by the villagers; the results are sent to the Police who then send a letter if someone is caught more than once: 85% are locals too  >:(.  As well as the Police printing their expected wait4those who-speed situations on their web-site and in the local Monday paper: why let the public know?  Also what a waste of time/money erecting 'new road layout ahead' signs :-\

Today: woke at 4.30 for a P, then the birds kept me awake.  Breakfast, MotoGP on 📺 all weekend; walked to/from the village surgery to make appts for more blood tests.  Back for light lunch.  Wild birds and pond fish fed.   8)

Horrible. How those ( won't print the word I am feeling) failed to stop i just don't know. Good man stopping and  willing to give that poor cat some respect. Hope he finds the owners, the pain of not knowing what happened otherwise.

A hug for you songbird. Am.sorry your days will be haunted for a while. Hold your cockapoo, he'll comfort you. Xx

Oh thanks Sarah 🌹. The Cockapoo just about puts up with me cuddling him. His little eyes shut, as much as to say….
“Oh no, here she comes again!”  ;)

Cockers need cuddles so that's the poodle part being independent then  ::)

Eaten our evening meal - watching tennis 🎾 from Queens  :-\ and I don't understand the game at all!

Oh what a sad story about that poor cat! I'm sorry you had to witness that.  :'( I've seen people hit squirrels, and they don't stop..not the same as a cat, but still a living creature.  Yes, hug your pup!
Morning shift done, walked the pup (she's snoozing now) had lunch, this may be a two-coffee day before back to work, feeling rather wiped today.
I got a text from Maggie's groomer last night and she told me she is moving on from the pet store salon to another "spa" and she really wants to keep grooming Maggie, as they have fun together.   It's a wee bit of a longer drive (another 5 minutes or so) and a smidge more expensive but not too much. They have better shampoo and conditioner and the nail grinding I pay extra for is included at the new place.  I was wondering whether I should just keep Maggie with the same groomer (she does an amazing job) or just find someone else at the other place to save a bit of money.  She's not due for a bath and brush for another few weeks yet.

Stick with who she knows.  The 'extras' are 'included' in the new price so will you be saving anything in reality.  Years ago I took my spaniel to a grooming parlour 3 times, I wish we'd never gone  :-\ :'( :'(.  She didn't want to go through the door and I didn't 'listen' to her.  A few weeks later I learned that a young cocker had been left at that place, because he was excitable they had injected him with something - without asking the owner - the pup became so nasty after that 24 hours he had to be euthanised.  I wish to this day that I had listened to my Girl  :'(.

So stick with what she knows ?  5 mins in the whole picture ain't far unless the road system is scary to drive along?  At least she's asked to keep Maggie on her list.
