More cutting back, adding stuff to our fast growing compost heap; inside now, feet up.  Time for a sleep  :o

Just back from hospital. Mum back in again! 2 weeks after having been discharged (prematurely in my opinion!) and she’s back in. Imagine that!
Poor thing was in agony earlier in the week. GP phoned for ambulance. We had a 14 hr wait and a further 3 hours in ambulance before being admitted!
Turns out to be complications with diverticular disease now! Perforated bowel and burst abscess. Pelting her with antibiotics to try and prevent sepsis but too frail to have surgery.  :'(
Insisted on speaking to the consultant after she was left squealing in pain (nurse’s words) when he decided to do a bloody rectal exam without pain relief. I didn’t miss him and hit the wall I can tell you! >:(

When I posted earlier I wondered about your Mum.  Very little bedside sympthaty these days it seems  :'( :-\.  Apparently 85% of patients are discharged too early and readmitted within 2 weeks  >:(.  U must feel frustrated and very angry!

I said often that every person who chooses medical training should have 2 weeks in a bed on a Ward ......... hopefully your Mum is being sedated.

I'll tell you something, CLKD, I have witnessed some incidents/practices within the health and social care system that have taken my breath away in recent weeks. A lack of care and compassion and practices which I am absolutely certain have not been part of any training process!  Anyways......

Thoroughly enjoying watching the mountain biking just now. And not an electric bike in sight!  ;D

>wave< - did U C the girl go down hard !!!  apparently there are alternative routes for such incidents, but it must often be an instant change !!!

I wonder whether that pink ribbon all the way round will be altered to blue for Tim Pidcock tomorrow  ;D

I would write a book about lack of care in hospitals  >:(  :'(

Sorry to hear about your mom Songbird. Hope she gets better soon. 💐
It doesn’t surprise me one little bit tbh what you’ve seen at the hospital. It was the same when my OH was in, we put in two complaints, which they investigated, and we had a letter saying they were going to address the issues, with a kind of apology at the end.
We actually said on a couple of occasions, Who the bloody hell trains these people now? 😡
And as for your poor moms wait, …..it’s appalling. 🤬

Awww songbird that's awful, poor mum, that is shocking for her to wait all that time, diverticulitis is painful enough on its own (flare for me just now) can't imagine how painful it must be with those added complications.
Absolutely appalling the way she has been treated 🤬🤬🤬

Oh, thanks for listening again ladies. I'm doing a bit of moaning these days  ;)  :foryou:
I'm a great one for "credit where credit's due" but, equally, I can't abide incompetence and lack of empathy/compassion (especially in a care setting!) 😡
Hope your flare up settles soon, Jaypo 🤞

I'm just back from the hospital CLKD. Mum was sitting up eating a bit of poached fish but she had her eye on the rhubarb crumble and custard that was for afters  ;D
It would appear the antibiotics are starting to have an effect  (thank goodness for Alexander Fleming  :o)

Just watched Andy Murray and Dan Evans winning the doubles 👏

Oh - is that a way to a tennis final for the pair?

Glad that you've seen your Mum, if she's eating that's a good sign ;-).  She can keep the rhubarb crumble though  :-X who ever thought that was a good idea needs his head shoving into a loo and the flush pulled  ;D. Custard - yep.  Especially runny.
