I'm on Kliovance systemic HRT and Ovestin cream. I've been using Ovestin externally for a couple of years. This year I had a urine infection in April and now just finishing treatment for another one.

I didn't realise the role of Ovestin in urinary issues until now. I've started to use it as instructed in the leaflet and doing a two week loading period internally intending to go to a couple of times a week after. I'm on day 5 of loading. Has anyone else found that Ovestin makes the area around the bladder sensitive? I feel like I want to go to the loo frequently but urine infection is now clear. Is this typical of the loading period with Ovestin?

Ovestin really irritated my bladder/urethra. I use the estriol 0.01% cream internally instead and have no issues with that.

I had all those weird sensations and it was estriol cream that stopped it. I had to use it for quite a while though and daily

Sometimes the body can be sensitive to the fillers/packaging rather than the active ingredient which is of course, natural - oestrogen.

There are several different products to treat vaginal atrophy which can mimic urine infection-type symptoms really really well. 

Perhaps it's tie to try Vagifem?
