Forgot to stick my two penn'orth in this thread last week, but - Sewing Bee is back!!! I LOVE that programme.  I can sew (though not against the clock), and I have to admit it makes me feel good sometimes to see the mistakes some of them make!  And as a bonus, I don't think there's a contestant this year that I'm going to want to smash in the face with a full pin-cushion!!!

I like the Sewing Bee but that Winkleman woman makes me want to stuff a pin cushion in her mouth to stop her shouting. Why shout....it really spoils it for me.


I enjoyed the Big Allotement Challenge.....sorry it's finished.


There is an adaptation of JK Rowlings book starting on Sunday. I was not terribly impressed with the book but might give the TV programme a go.

I know that she had been killed off but that was all part of the plot and I don't think that would impact on a future series as it has opened up a whole new story line. I thought that one of the two main characters had died or the actors who played them had died. I got really confused watching the last episode as I told  my son that someone was about to be killed off (I was watching it on Catch up and had read on here that someone had died) and then nobody did -  my son was really disappointed.  ;D

Did anyone watch 'Eat Well for Less'?

Made me feel better watching that.Thought my shopping bill was a lot.
Didn't agree about the frozen strawberries though. It wasn't a fair comparison because they had the stalks on and the ones they froze in the factory didn't.
I'd heard that if you freeze strawberries with the stalk on they don't go mashy.( I'm going to try it........just the one though ;D

Don't think it makes much difference.  Soft fruits require freezing in liquid nitrogen to keep them from going mushy when taken from the freezer  ;) - our family has been doing what is suggested for 100 years  ::) - there's very little waste in our household because we buy as we require and what we will eat - in bulk to save money if we have storage space, i.e. tinned/frozen stuff ……. most meals cooked from scratch and only as much as we are likely to eat at 1 sitting.

Watching Tipping Point right now  ;)
