Water In patch
« on: June 17, 2022, 06:24:00 PM »

Just had a bath & some water got into my patch. I don't have any more estrogen patches only progesterone but its too early to put one on. I'm still waiting for pharmacy to deliver them & they're waiting for stock to come in.
I've restuck it as best as i can & put a plaster over it.
Just hope it works ok until Monday at least when i can change to progesterone patch.
I thought these patches were meant to be waterproof. I put it on my upper thigh & it usually sticks well.

When I had baths I had the same issue. It is very easy to get water into them. Maybe it would help for you to use Tegaderm dressings to cover patches in the future.

If the water got in it shows that the patch isn't stuck properly to the skin. As the hormones are contained in the adhesive you won't be getting the full amount of absorption. It is not advised to get the patches to stay on by using tape as, again, the hormones won't be properly absorbed. I found the thigh quite difficult to get a taut, smooth patch. It sort of wrinkled up in the middle. I stick mine top of the buttock. Hope the next one sticks better.

It should be fine. If you read the patch instructions, they say that if the patch comes off or gets wet and comes off, dry it and stick it back on again. Well, I think the Estradot instructions say that anyway. So I think you'll be okay.
