Pelvic and back pain
« on: May 06, 2022, 11:03:57 AM »

Hi,
I've been on HRT since Aug 2021 (no periods for around 20 months).  100 Utrogestan daily and 50 Evorel patches.  Took a while to settle but things have been good for around 4-5 months.

Last Monday-Weds I experiences some ovulation type pains (both sides) intermittently and quite sharp which seem to have subsided but am left with period like cramps, bloating along with slight back pain.   Today I'm using a hot water bottle and have taken a pain killer (just done so not sure if it will work).

I've booked a doc appointment for Tuesday.   Has anyone experienced this well in to your HRT regime?  I'm of course catastrophizing and thinking the worst!
Thanks.

Hello Jackleburger,
It could be the utrogestan that's causing the cramping,  I've had similar feeling with it . Sometimes a side effect can be loose bowels &cramping too .
If you're worried before your appointment, maybe call out of hours docs for advise ?
Hopefully it'll settle down for you with what you're doing. It's funny was going to say drug ,but it's not!(hormone) &can take a while to get used to it .

How is your bladder functioning? Have to pee frequently, perhaps..?

Maybe it's time to think about Vagifem?!

Thanks for your replies.  I'm on Vagifem and have been for 12 months and bladder OK.   Actually went to the doc today and she thinks it will settle but as a precaution she's sending me for some bloods and an ultrasound.
