Hi guys I  know you are probably sick of the sound of me, but I'm feeling so very low and wondered if you could kindly respond and advise to my last post on "does oestrogen cause fatigue ", thread......xxxx

Oestrogen is the feel good hormone for me.
It lifts and energises me hugely ( at the right dose).

I’ve recently been on a very low dose of oral and by week 13, knew it wasn’t for me. Fatigued, dry skin, bladder issues etc.

Now I’ve swapped to my 75 patch and although it’s only been 24 hours, I already feel slightly better.

 I’m now under the guidance of an excellent specialist, who is working with me to get the HRT right.

Where are you at with your HRT? Whatever dose you are on, you won’t have given it the time it needs to work.

P.s agree with jaypo
Low ferritin & b12 can make you feel fatigued.

Early days yes, but I haven’t been to the bathroom as much so far today.
Plus I have my specialist on board, she answer my emails and queries, which makes me feel so much more secure.

Hi I'm on 100mg patch. But I recently upped it to 150 then back down again . My anxiety feels much stronger

Day13 is nothing I’m afraid.
Is anxiety your only symptom?

I think I told you that my anxiety persisted for months and months. I almost had to quit driving. Then it subsided.

100 for me it too much Oestrogen. But for you, it could be right, but you must give it time. Have you tried other strategies with as deep breathing etc?

I find a good CBD oil helps me too.

Hi vicky, having read all your posts I can see you are desperate for some relief, that's really understandable I too was that way when first starting hrt, but it's so important now you stay consistent with your dose, I know estrogen is meant to give us energy but this is purely my own experience and may not apply to you, but when I started patches fatigue hit me about two weeks in, it was an overwhelming tiredness where I felt I had to lie down I also felt spacey almost drugged, I didn't understand it as its meant to make us feel energetic, and often is thought of as low estrogen, and I upped the dose only to feel much worse, it was side effects for me, once I stuck to one dose eventually it faded away as I got used to it, your body and mind have been through alot recently with various Ads and hrt, and also never underestimate what prolonged anxiety can do to the body, its vital to stay consistent now so you can really see what's working don't be tempted to change the dose, stick with it and hopefully you will start to see improvements I know it's tough, it took me a very long time to finally find a dose that worked even then I've had to accept that hrt will not cure everything and it's definitely not a quick fix it takes alot of patience, but in answer to your question yes in my case in the early weeks everol patches gave me an odd drugged type fatigue which did pass in time, take care hope things improve for you soon x

I wonder if checking out the resource section at Newson Health would help you the most? Or were you given something similar from your private practice already? There’s loads of info on what to expect.
Do you enjoy watching movies? We just finished Life of Walter Mitty for the 3rd time, it’s hilarious! You need a distraction because you’re not going to get anything at this stage here other than, it’s only been 2 weeks, give it time. So maybe it’s more helpful to give you some distraction techniques. I also enjoy jigsaw puzzles, if I’m doing one I absolutely don’t think about anything else. Not cleaning the house or menopause! What kind of hobbies do you enjoy? I find it hard to read books at the moment but purple hibiscus by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie is a book I’m slowly reading that’s so wonderful to read. A truly gifted author.

If you’re still menstruating you’re also still going to be having natural highs and lows, my luteral phase sucks still and I’m always extra tired and saying, why the hell am I so tired??

Hi Vicky,

Just wanted to say I will never forget that long four month wait for VA treatment to work, I thought it was never going to end, the burning, not being able to sit down at my computer, the constant peeing and the pain.
But out of the blue the treatment started to work, a flare up now and again but after ten months of treatment I am now in full control of this vile condition and all those horrid symptoms are no more. But if I let my guard down I will soon know about it, but I now have all the ammunition at my disposal to fight back!

That’s the problem with these treatments, they take time and its difficult to comprehend the long wait but you will get there in the end I am sure of that.

Distraction works for me. Meditation helps hugely, I had to trawl through a lot of meditation stuff until I found something I got on with. At work, as daft as it sounds, at my worst, I’d do 20 jumping jacks in a toilet cubicle just to ‘get out’ of the mindset I was in. If at home I’d do the plank or do 30 mins with a hula hoop and headphones, anything to try and stop the anxiety being in control. Running helps me hugely but there wasn’t always time to get my kit on in time so running on the spot helped instead.
A healer advised me to do the opposite of what my head was telling me to do, took a while to work that out but it helped me too.
