Bladder infection??
« on: April 26, 2022, 07:34:31 PM »

Hi again,
Sorry, I go on and on.

Into 5th week of bladder irritation/ frequent weeing etc etc
I’m using vagifem daily, ovestin and yes moisture gel religiously, but to no avail. I am not getting relief at all.

I’m also still very dry down there and can only think the atrophy is pretty severe?

I’ve done an e consult to request urine to be tested for infection.
What else can I do? Swab request?

I had been on the femeston Conti for 3 months and I think things have been deteriorating down there from the start. My whole body is dried out, lips, hands, bits, everything.

I feel such a mess right now  :-\

MayB put two vagifem up either 1 in the afternoon and the other at night, or at the same time?  It can take weeks to sort this problem.  If you aren't getting any relief, mayB ask for a referral to a urologist to check your water works?

Your regime should give some relief.  I find that taking pain relief: I use 'nurofen': when the need2P aggravates eases the feeling.

Hello Nas. I am sorry to hear you are in such pain. It is a good idea having a urine sample sent to a lab just to check if you have an infection. I have been using ovestin and yes vm for 5 months and still have the symptoms you describe. Sadly it seems for some of us it takes longer to feel better.

How long have you been using the VA treatment?

Thanks CLKD, I mention the water works to the GP, as I dont know what the issue is right now.

Flossie, it’s by far the most hideous thing ( after my breast cancer ) and making me feel really down. Do you feel any relief at all?

Gracie, I’ve been on the VA treatment for three years.
The problem has arisen since I dropped by 75 patch for 1mg oral tablet.
Prior to that, I didn’t t even need vagifem.

I feel the symptoms are bearable sometimes but everyday I need the loo constantly and am in pain. I can totally understand it gets you down. It really is horrid.

Oh Flossie, it’s awful isn’t it.
Is yours definitely VA related?
How do you cope with the constant loo trips?

I’m thinking all sorts, bladder cancer etc etc  :-X

That's rotten luck, Nas. I hope you get it all sorted soon, it all sounds too miserable for you, and bloody unfair!

It makes me feel low and fed up. I know it is not anything serious like bladder cancer. I do not have any choice but to deal with it really. I am so sorry you are going through this too. Yes, mine is VA.

Flossie, it’s just the pits for sure.
Had another awful day today with it, i just can’t cope with this menopause and working. How am I meant to do anything or get stuff done when my mind is constantly pre occupied with weeing?? 😢

Gracie , it’s very unfair and right how feel very hard done by.
Nothing is working to try and fix it either.

CLKD, I’m waiting for a response to yesterday’s econsult. Think it’s an infection which needs treating.

Hello Nas.

I just wanted to offer support to you.

I don't have your particular problem but the ones I do have are getting me down in the same way. It is beyond belief that our bodies do this to us!

Did you say that you have an appointment tomorrow at Chelsea and Westminster? If I have that right good luck and hopefully you'll get good results.

Take care.

K.

Kathleen, I am in the depths of despair with this .
I have actually lost count of the number of loo trips today!
What an earth is going on?
Surgery didn’t get back to me either! So had to send a message saying so.

It’s seriously affecting my mental health all of this now  :'(

Chelsea won’t help much, they may let me change to a stronger  progesterone, so that I can increase the Oestrogen, that’s if i am lucky!

What a god awful time of life is all I am say.

How are you doing anyway? Are you getting some good days in?
I do hope so..? Xxxxx

I do not know if this is of any help but I had to give up all caffeine. I found that made me go to the loo more. It is so annoying the GP did not contact you. I hope they contact you tomorrow.
