Cysts “down there”
« on: March 06, 2025, 08:44:51 PM »

Looking for some advice.

Anyone experienced bartholin cysts down below since becoming peri?

I finished a period late last week, and a little (actually not that little) friend has popped up. I’m so sore.

Managed to get some relief yesterday in the form of a “explosion” (putting it nicely), but she is back with a vengeance tonight and all sore again.

I’ve read on some other sites that this could be another peri symptom.

Has anyone experienced this, and if so, please for the love of god tell me how to make it stop!!!!!

Me!!!

I had one about 7 years ago. And I then had another last month. I didnt realise they were a peri thing.

Anyway, first one never hurt. Last month's one did. GP gave me antibiotics to take if it got worse e.g infected. But rest assured, both times they just went away. And I never needed the antibiotics.

Perhaps the one last month took about two weeks to go. But the pain went quicker. X

I've had a cyst too. Not sure it was a bartholins cyst or not.

Mine started as a little lump that got irritated with sex and was very, very painful. I ended up going to the GP who lanced it and squeezed it very hard. He didn't give me antibiotics for it but told me to keep it bathed for a few days. It never returned and I've never had another.

I was very early 30's at the time so it wasn't peri related.

Go and see your GP. It could be infected if it's popped and come back.

Boiled water with lots of salt in it, cooled ........ then apply pressure gently to C if it will pop, the salted water acts as a protection against bacteria.  Then apply 'savlon' as a barrier.

I've had two.

The first one was surgically drained.  The second burst whilst I was having a hot bath.

If it's just a cyst it may go it's own, like my second one.  If it's infected it's an abscess, like my first.

Either way it needs to be looked at.
