Oh no you didn't   that reminds me: at school they cooked semolina: 1 week it would be vanilla  :-X the next chocolate.  Because I wouldn't eat the vanilla I was denied 'seconds' of the chocolate - go figure  >:(

I occasionally buy a tin and mix melted 'flake' into it  :-*

Extras for the dog, huh?
We had pink semolina at junior school, it was disgusting. They made me stay behind to eat it - it didn't work  >:(. Funny how tastes change, I didn't like custard then either.

Do they go well with custard?  :) Oops, we seem to have gone a bit off topic. I believe cyclogest isn't licensed for hrt in the UK? So may be hard to get a prescription for it.

Hi everyone, thanks for responding. The answer is definitely pressure on the manufacturers as clearly there are vegan friendly alternatives available and being used widely for supplements available on the highstreet. I guess we just keep pestering our doctors every time as jaypo says and writing to Besins Health who seem to have the UK monopoly on the body identical stuff. For now I'll keep spitting out the capsules - ugh.

What other products do you avoid ?  Interesting topic ..........

I avoid anything with animal products in - so synthetic 'gelatine' is fine - if only more pharma companies would use it...

Like you,I'm veggie and also find it difficult to find prescribed drugs without gelatine, which I find infuriating in this day and age,as there is absolutely no way they need to use this disgusting stuff but like clkd says sometimes we have to decide which is a priority and sadly I've had to endure ABs with gelatin capsules but if more people push for a change,it may happen,I always mention it to my Dr. The likes of Holland & Barrett do veggie capsules so why can't pharmaceutical companies 🤷‍♀️

I agree - pressure from consumers is the only things that'll change things. I'm going to pester my doctor too now, and write to Besins Health again about it.
