Oestrogel absorption help
« on: March 12, 2022, 09:43:55 AM »

Hi, I started HRT 3 months ago on the Evoril conti patch, which seemed to help, apart from my hair still rapidly thinning. I've just been moved on to oestrogel pump with daily progesterone tablets.
Daft question - I put the gel on at night same time as taking the tablet, but I'm showering the gel off in the morning about 7 or 8 hours later. Will enough gel have absorbed? Should I be putting the gel on straight after the last lot is washed off?
Putting the gel on in the morning is a risk that  a) it won't be at the same time every day and b)  that I miss putting it on at all🙄
Any info really appreciated! Thanks 😊

Yes an hour after applying is fine, and they say to let it dry before dressing or hopping into bed. A lot of women don’t like it at night, it depends. If you can’t sleep you might find you need to do it in the morning. It doesn’t need to be exactly same time but just I guess before lunch, when I used gel I did it straight after my morning shower. I did find it annoying to apply so I switched to the patch.
