I changed from HRT patches to tablets I week ago and have had increasing panic attacks as the week has gone on. Although I had anxiety before this I didn’t have the constant panic. Has anyone else had this experience with tablets? I am struggling to cope and don’t know what to do at this point as the patches were not stopping my nights sweats and burning up, even at high doses.

What have you been prescribed B4 and after ?  Is it the progesterone that is causing problems?

It can take 6-8 months of HRT to ease symptoms.  MayB stop for 3 weeks, keep a mood/symptom/diary and review your feelings?  Some anti-depressant medications are said to ease hot flushes etc..

They are 2mg Elleste Duet Conti tablets.
I was previously using three and a half Evorel Conti patches.

I am new to all of this as per my previous (new post I put on this morning)

I am on day 8 of the femoston 2/10 and still in the crying and don't want to go out (anxiety), phase. Jyst want to know when will these kick in?

Yeah I am.  Didn't realise it was perimenopause until a doc st work said it could be.....its the anxiety.....don't want to go out anywhere its horrible x

It can definitely take a while for hrt to start working. My advice would be to keep checking in with your doc, particularly if no improvement after a month; even though the docs say three months.

Really? Yeah the consultant said "by the 3rd packet you should feel the benefit"

So you think after 1 month?

Three months is definitely the standard. If things get worse or are still unbearable after a month I would be tempted to contact them but it just depends how you are feeling by then really.

I'm also on AD sertraline for 3 weeks. I will be sure to let you know how I get on.

If you've got worse I would try something else. It could the progestogen or low oestrogen. Might be worth trying a sequi regime to rule out the progestogen. Have you tried other patches, gel or spray? It's possible you will absorb better with a different carrier. It does take time though, it was 3 months before my anxiety and insomnia went.

Hope you don't mind me jumping in ....but what HRT are you on that took 3 months for your anxiety to go? Any advice would be great as I'm on day 8 of femoston 2/20 xx

Evorel sequi at the time, changed to gel & utro now as I developed an allergic reaction to it. Anxiety and insomnia seem to need a build up of oestrogen before they go. Perhaps the anxiety would have gone sooner if I didn't have insomnia, I think they made each other worse.
 Day 8 is very early days yet, I hope you see an improvement soon.
