Oestrogel to Evorel 50
« on: January 28, 2022, 07:09:03 PM »

Hi,
I started on oestrogel (2 pumps) and daily Utrogestan (100) in August 2021.  After a few weeks of side effects it settled down.   My main concerns before starting (apart from potential benefits for osteoporosis, heart health, etc) were hot flushes, lack of sleep and libido.  The flushes and lack of sleep were sorted but not the libido.

I decided to change to patches as I was finding putting the gel on each morning a bit of a pain and occasionally I forgot.  My meno clinic gave me Evorel 50 and I've been using it for 2 weeks.  I know it's early days and might need to settle but I feel really weapy and low.  I never had that with the gel.   I'm still not getting the flushes and seem to be sleeping OK.  My health anxiety is quite high at the moment as I've had a flare up of chest pain (all been checked last year and appears OK so guessing it's just anxiety).  Also, feel SO cold (thyroid checked last year and was borderline low).   Just wondered if any of you ladies had experienced something similar when changing from gel to patches.

Thanks.

I've done it the other way round and didn't notice any difference. Two weeks isn't long enough to give it a fair trial but it's possible you absorb it differently. You may find you need to add testosterone for libido.

Yes it probably is.  I'll keep going and I'm sure things will settle.  Thanks for responding.
