Norethisterone
« on: January 24, 2022, 06:12:35 PM »

Has anyone used norethisterone 5 mg daily, to control post menopausal bleeding and as a normal progesterone?

Utrogestan just isn’t working for me.

I’m on the Evorel 75 patch.

Thanks  :)

I was on Evorel Conti which has Norethisterone but I had constant bleeding so reverted back to sequi for just a monthly bleed

Thanks Taz
Conti make me irritable and Sequi no good as post meno now.

Maybe I won’t suit norethistone if I’m irritable on conti?

Definitely makes me feel like I've got constant PMT  :(

You can use Sequi HRT even when post meno. Others on here are post and on a Sequi regime especially where conti gives unpredictable bleeding problems.

Hi you could try Provera instead of Utrogestan. x

Hi Nas I’m not sure if it’s better at controlling bleeding. I just know it’s recommended if Utrogestan doesn’t work . x

Hi Nas, I've used both Norethisterone tabs & MPA/Provera but on a cyclical basis only & both gave me a substantial bleed, though the Norethisterone I found intolerable & went back to MPA.  I'd say worth trying either though, if Utrogestan is not working as you need it to.  We all seem to be so different in how we react.
