Break in HRT
« on: December 27, 2021, 11:27:13 AM »

I started the the patches on the 22nd Dec but came off them on the 24th due to side effects I was working and couldn't stand the side effects whilst working .I am off work for the holidays so was thinking of trying them again  Is there a certain length of time to have a break from it or can I try them again . Does the side effects go away

Which patches?

Are you able to describe the side effects?

HRT can take 4-5 months B4 the body feels benefit.  MayB keep a mood/symptom/diary to chart feelings.  What made you try HRT initially?

Which type of patch, combined or oestrogen only?

What side effects did you have?

You do need to give each Hrt a good 3 months, but I do understand some side effects are brutal and not sustainable whilst working.

I had to try several types of anti-depressant due to dire side-effects ......... eventually we found 1 which worked.

Awful!  See how you feel over the next few days and review.

The side effects do lessen but HRT patches, like any other medication do take time to settle. Bearing that in mind, it would be sensible to use them for at least 3 months before reaching firm conclusions.

I am not an expert in HRT matters but I'm guessing that it might be as well to give them another try while you are off work. You only took them for a very short time so I'd imagine there wouldn't be a great deal built up in your system.

Hope you get to feel better soon.
