Mirena coil
« on: December 11, 2021, 04:33:56 PM »

Hi, I’m new to the forum although I’ve been browsing around for a while and think this is an amazing resource. I’m 51 and perimenopausal and have been using a sequential patch for around 18 months. My worse symptom is anxiety which has increased recently, and I have added 1 pump of estrogel but this hasn’t helped with the anxiety or night sweats.
I am due to have a mirena coil fitted soon (after a failed attempt a couple of weeks ago when it wouldn’t go in-wrong time of the month apparently 😭) and hopefully will then be able to up my estrogen. I am thinking of combining a patch with estrogel for some flexibility and would really appreciate any suggestions-I am currently using evorel patches but have read estradot stick better: does anyone have experience with this? Thanks for reading.

It's really a question of trying it to see. I had problems getting evorel to stick. I believe estrodot sticksbetter as well as being smaller but I haven't tried it, I changed to gel. You may find your gp would prefer either a patch or gel but not a mixture.

Thanks sheila99 I will ask the nurse next week about estradot as I’ve also had problems with evorel coming off-recently I’ve been giving them a blast with the hairdryer for a few seconds and that helps but not sure if it’s the right thing to do!
