Yes, it's very early days and only one pump prescribed till next bloods. I'm getting somewhere, I think, at snail's pace. I do notice if I just "apply", it stays quite tacky for some time, so maybe something a bit more vigorous is required after all. Anybody's guess right now!  ::)

This thread is really helpful, thanks. I started on thighs, but couldn't get it to dry - although I now realise I probably wasn't rubbing it in enough! - switched to upper arms and it dries really quickly. It's also easier to wander about and do other things while it dries when it's on your arms.
I put it on in the mornings, after I've had a bath.

Thanks! Yeah, it's a shame the important HOW can be missed out in favour of the WHAT. Given it's tending to be about absorption, fairly crucial to understand the best way to achieve that!

I seem to have regressed a bit since starting on gel and applying to the inner thigh. I have wobbly areas there which makes me think the absorption may not be sufficiently  penetrative? The specialist said that's where the skin is thinnest, but that doesn't feel the case for me? I'm only on one pump, so apply it all to one leg, the same one. How does this dosage compare with Evorel25? Bladder frequency is back, more tired and lacking energy/motivation, hungry all the time! Arms next? 🤔

Hi PM, I can’t help with dosage comparison as I only know gel. Can you increase to 1.5 pumps before the vicious circle of bladder urgency> sleep disturbance> shattered> anxiety> joint ache cycle really gets embedded?
The turning point for me (I think looking back!) was getting enough HRT to stop nocturia which enabled sleep, things improved very quickly once sleep wasn’t disturbed.
Or even increase by a quarter of a pump?

I found no difference in uptake between arms and legs though I think there's someone who does. It isn't unusual to absorb differently even though on paper it's the same dose. I would increase by half a pump as well.

That's interesting, Dotty, as technically like using a patch every day whereas I was only applying one twice a week as prescribed. Is a half or quarter pump easily enough measured and accurate enough? The specialist wanted me to stay on the one pump till the next bloods in about ten days.

I think the 25mg patch delivers the equivalent of 1 pump of gel daily opposed to it containing 1 pump of gel dispersed over how many days it’s worn, but I might be wrong or have the wrong end of the stick here!

I’m not sure how accurate we can be with gel, there are too many variables. There have been times when I’ve put jeans on too quickly and half of it’s soaked into denim or the day when I applied 4 pumps on twice and odd day I forgot to put it on at all. Putting it on twice made me very energetic but no effects from taking none or less? For me I feel like once the body is replenished there’s a bit of leeway between dosage but I’ve not missed two days in a row so don’t know how long the leeway is!

Not sure what I’d do regarding blood test in ten days, maybe see how you feel tomorrow as today might be a one off yak day?

Hi yes Victoria is right. I don’t think I explained myself very well. 1 pump of gel gives you the same amount of oestrogen that a 25 patch gives you every day .

Given that it's only 10 days it might be best to wait if you can cope with it. My understanding of the 25mg patch is that it gives you 25mg every day so one pump should be equivalent. If your symptoms are returning it would indicate you absorb less readily from gel but as you can easily increase the dose it really doesn't matter.

Thanks, everyone. At the moment, it's all feeling terribly random, sooooooo many variables! Is the site/dose/delivery method the issue? Who knows. So, yes, I'll give it the ten days and see what the bloods are showing. I think, if an absorption issue proves to be the case, it may be that a higher dosage by the simplest delivery method to manage, is what's needed rather than flitting from this to that delivery method at minimum dosage. I'll keep you all posted. Thanks again.
