Hi,
I am a very anxious person but in all the years I have taken HRT I have not been as anxious, however, I weaned myself off HRT and it seems the anxiety has returned so obviously I need the help of Estrogen.
Hopefully this will help you x

Thank you for your replies.
I'm on ellest duet 1mg per day. I've been taking for 5 days now. I'm really hoping it will help with my anxiety. Does anyone have any idea of how long it will take? I'm really hoping that it will start to kick in soon.

It will take a while depending on how your own hormones are.  Let the medication do it's work, it can take 4-5 months B4 the body settles and even then, there may be a few hiccups-cups.

It may do.  Each person is different.  Try not to be disappointed if you still have some initial anxiety.  HRT is rarely instant, even pain relief takes a while B4 it kicks in.

It usually takes a couple of weeks to start to feel the initial benefits and up to 3 months to feel the full benefits.  You'll probably have a few side effects aswell but these usually settle after a couple of months.

That's a start as anxiety surges can happen if the body lacks energy.

Where does it settle in the main, 4 me it's underneath the belly button  >:(

I'm waiting on my GP calling me. I don't know if it's because I'm tapering off the diazepam.

1mg isn't going to make that much difference.  It's probably worrying about worrying  ::) which is what happens to me  >:(  :-\.  DH told me years ago that if I didn't have anything to worry about ........... for me though, it's physical.  I can take on the World until my gut gets queasy!

It's like a hot flush that doesn't stop. A big wave of anxiety that starts in my chest.

That's how flushes often begin: in the chest with a surge of adrenaline B4 the heat begins.  Fortunately I didn't have those for more than 10 weeks and they were never overwhelming.

Get out for a walk or if not possible breathing exercises. Or sounds nuts I did these things:
1. Run on the spot with music if poss. Without still works.
2. Hoola hoop for 20 mins.
Ten mins of cardio increases dopamine levels in the brain. Get moving!
