Hi Supersixty

 :welcomemm:

I would suggest if you are concerned about the mess then maybe ask for Vagifem while you are away?

It does sound especially messy and shouldn't seep through a panti-liner as well!! Not good! Glad it's working though :)

I started Intrarosa a week ago but have decided to stop taking it after experiencing a number of side effects. On the second day I had a period lasting three days with terrible cramp - I haven’t had a proper period in two years. A huge acne like spot under my chin, greasy face, low mood, intrusive thoughts and terrible rage. I haven’t felt this awful since before I got on HRT so have stopped immediately and will continue with the Overton cream.

Hi akazukinchan

When you say you haven't had a proper NATURAL period for two years (and not on any form of contraception like POP or Mirena), if you have had no bleeding or spotting at all during this time then you should get checked out by a doctor because this counts as post-menopausal bleeding. If more than 12 months have elapsed since last bleeding then you are classed as post-menopause.

If you have light periods, few days of spotting etc then these do count as the time leading up to menopause, the periods can become almost non-existent. Then you start counting 12 months from the last episode of bleeding/spotting even if not a "proper" period.

If that is the case ie the latter) then it could well be that you are not yet post-menopausal - and you have just ovulated recently and the period is just that - a proper period.

it is extremely unlikely that this is a result of starting intrarosa - the amount of hormone in the preparation is insufficient and a period would not happen that quickly. It sounds like coincidence and the other sdie effects maybe due to your natural cycle?

However you have also mentioned HRT soo are you taking this too? If this is the case the scenario is different - tell us more - what you are taking - dose, delivery method, how long you;ve been taking it where you were in menopause when you started etc? Then we can help better

Thank you for replying - I should clarify that what I meant by a ‘proper period’ was regular, bright blood for a couple of days or more. I experience what can be described as very light rusty spotting (one day max usually) every 2-3 months or so. I’m using Femoston 2/10 plus Testogel for the past couple of years plus Overton cream internally/externally, but have been having issues with clitoral atrophy this past year (I made a separate thread for this)

I read about Intrarosa and was hoping it might give things in the vulval area on the whole a bit of a boost but I had a lot of odd and unexpected side effects. Having read into it further online I can see that quite a few people have experienced similar so I realise that this particular medication is t for me

Hi, I was doing great on Intrarosa, I had been 7 months completely well - until today that is. I have just started a flare up. I am thinking this might be related to my own oestrogen levels taking a drop (have had return of heart palpitations and joint pain for last month), so maybe need to up my oestrogen dose. I don’t think the Intrarosa is at fault, I still think for me it’s been good.
