HRT after DVT
« on: November 11, 2021, 09:39:37 AM »

Hi, my doctor has told me that I’m not allowed HRT as I had a DVT 17 years ago following the birth of my youngest son.  :-\  But, I have read that this isn’t the case. Does anyone know if this is true or not?
Many thanks

You can have HRT
I’ve been on warfrain for a good 27/28 years because of DVT & PE
And I was allowed HRT but had to have in patch form as it’s very low risk for clots
I didn’t get on with HRT to be honest but that’s more because of my own fluctuating hormones and I maybe added too much with HRT but we are all different .. but you can most definitely have HRT but not tablet form.

You might have to ask for a referral to a menopause clinic  ::)

I had bilateral PE's 5 years ago and had to have major surgery at Papworth Hospital, they said it was down to HRT and I am not allowed to take HRT now.
