It will be a while B4 it is known who she passed it on to .......... no one really seems to be certain about the incubation period.  Which is why masks are essential.  I've noticed that I spit when talking excitedly  >:(  :-X   :-[ .........

I think that we should all consider keeping a wider distance again.  I can see lockdown happening.

I'm chilled.  I'll go with the below until and if we know different.

BBC News - Covid: New Omicron variant not a disaster, says Sage scientist

I haven't trusted SAGE for years.    I tend to waft over the BBC too.  What we don't get told enough is about those on the front line who are seeing the immediate effects.

I've been for my booster  8)

Hopefully the entertainments industry won't be as badly affected this time.  Theatres and restaurants are on their knees in some towns  :'(

My arm kept me awake when I turned over  :D.  Better now that I've been cleaning the kitchen, gently movement has eased any bruising underneath.  Slight headache so will take 2 'nurofen' with my cuppa this morning.

GPs and Jabs - Winter 2021
« Reply #37 on: December 04, 2021, 03:44:09 PM »

Now GPs are agreeing to being paid for health checks which they no longer have to carry out on the over 75s as well as agreeing to being paid per C-19 jab to help with the backlog  >:(.  Why can't GPs do what they are paid to do, that is look after local people who may require advice?  There are plenty of vaccinators i.e. retired GPs, Nurses, Health visitors queueing up to give jabs, but can't get into a centre due to paper work  >:(

It's a nuisance for those needing to spend C.mas/New Year alone due to the virus; however - there's been acute sadness in the News in recent weeks so we should all take a deep breath and be thankful.   Two sets of twins, died as the result of a fire ........ those two beautiful babies killed by adults who should have known better  :'( and with Russia sabre-rattling on the Ukraine borders and the Internation Red Cross busy in Afghanistan ......... in the cold, snow, dry air; no blankets, food, heating.   :'(

That's mean if that is implemented.  I can see many people in the service industry becoming depressed ..........  :'(

The vast majority of a hospital's Covid patients in recent months have been unvaccinated, its boss has said.

Dr Ewen Cameron, of Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge, said: "About 80% of patients we've seen over the last few months in general wards and critical care have been unvaccinated."

He said the deaths of unvaccinated patients were particularly tragic since they were usually avoidable.

On Thursday, 35 patients had Covid, six of whom were in critical care.

Dr Cameron, chief operating officer for Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, said that of these patients, most were sick with the virus itself, while a small number were in for other reasons and "incidentally" had Covid.
