Hello, I am 39 yo and with endometriosis.
Last year I had an ovary removal becauses of endometriosis cysts.
I have one left but it is slow. After the surgery, I had hot flush, anxiety. My hormones level was like I was on menaupose. My doc told me yhat my ovary left would wake yup and to not take hormones yet.
My other Doc for IVF with egg donor put me on Climaston (Femoston in theUK) to keep my lining on for further embryo transfer.
As soon as i took in October Femoston my hair started to shed.
He told me to stop and sent le to a gnye that knows ménopause who told me that it's not Femoston's side effect. So I said ok .. then in Décember I stoped in order to prepare the embryo transfer .
In April a took again Climaston 2/10 (femoston) and the shedding restarted!!
I was so upstet. As it is not in the leaflet, the doc won't recognise the side effect. I had blood test, everything is fine.
I stopped in taking the Hrt on 17 June. I had enough and heavy blood. I called the health service in my country and they told le they had had some cases of hair loss.
I'm so mad at me because I usually monitoring every effect and questionning every drug. I didn't listen to my body, the Doc was sure the hair shedding was because of my hormones.
And the second time in April, it happened again and I didn't stopped right away, as i was listening to the doc only.
I had been on chemical menaupose before to dry my endometriosis and never expérienced any shedding.
I lost 50 percent of my hair. Will it grow back? I'ts been 4 weeks I am off the Femoston.
It's really hard. I never expérienced this, Ibtook a lot of hormonal like utrogestan, progynova to try to conceive and never had hair loss.
Sorry for this post, English is not my mother tongue, and by googling Femoston which is the same hrt I use, I found resutlts in English. I had no results by typing Climaston and hair loss in google.
