Ovulation pain and pelvic pressure for days each cycle
« on: September 14, 2021, 06:06:13 AM »

Hello.

My first post  :)

I hadn’t realised the things I had been noticing ie heavier periods, anxiety, panic etc could be linked to perimenopause. I’ve learned a lot in here.

I wondered if anyone else had experienced a significant change to how it feels leading up to ovulation. The last two months I’ve had 10 days of pressure behind my section scar and bloating and pain in my ovaries. Combined with anxiety and worrying it’s a tumour and general craziness. I usually feel ovulation for 2/3 days every cycle. I had lots of iVF to have my son so am very aware of noticing my ovaries and this recent change feels like I’m back doing IVF with very swollen abdomen etc. It goes away completely after ovulation.

Is this something anyone else has noticed? I have a pelvic scan booked for reassurance but would love to know if anyone else had this. And did it last a long time. I’m mulling speaking to the GP about HRT because of the anxiety more than anything but want to try and help myself through meditation, exercise etc before as I’m only 12 months or so in to this rollercoaster!

Thanks so much for reading.

Could be an ovarian cist, i had a couple of them during peri and had the  pelvic pain and bloating. They usually resolve on their own with monitoring and  will show up on the scan.

Me! It’s been increasingly worse each month.. pls go to the docs. I did & blood tests revealed raised c125 markers.. could indicate ovarian cancer.. after first bout of tests that’s been pretty much ruled out but I too was terrified as it really feels like there’s something pressing against everything in there. Do you have a history of endometriosis? There’s also a sister condition called adenomyosis which causes these symptoms. And as the other poster said an ovarian cyst could be the reason too. Either way I was told to stop the hrt as oestrogen is growing everything in there. Good luck. Don’t let fear put you off going to the docs tho!
