Hi ladies,

On day 8 of 4th cycle of HRT.

As per my HRT review I increased Oestrogel (just half pump extra to work up to the full pump extra) by half a pump to 2 and a half.

The first three days I was groggy and a bit spaced out till late afternoon. I reduced the extra to smaller amount (less than half a pump) and am not groggy or spaced out now.

I have had a dry itchy scalp - does this indicate needing more oestrogen?

I have had an episode of low level anxiety on waking this morning and up till today my anxiety had more or less eased.

Any ideas?

Sorry, no ideas specifically about oestrogen but just wanted to say I had many of these symptoms when I first started HRT late 2017/early 2018. Things did overall get better each month and I tracked symptoms on an app so I could see the whole picture. I felt best at 4 pumps and later reduced it to 3.5 which worked for many years for me.

Taking utrogestan vaginally was so helpful too. My body is very sensitive ti progesterone so after discussing with the meno clinic and listening to the wisdom on here I just put it inside me with my finger. The meno clinic recommended something you can use to insert it (sorry can’t remember what it is but I think Utrogestan is used for fertility so there’s something you can buy to help insertion).

It gets right where it’s supposed to be then and is more systemic rather than going through your whole system and this helps with the side effects.

Also, have you tried testosterone? That can help with mood and fatigue.

Good luck. Thinking of you xx

Thanks mindfulmoomins (fab name btw),

That’s really helpful. It makes all the difference to know that someone else experienced similar and with time it settled. I get more help/reassurance from this lovely forum that I do from my GP.

Very grateful, thank you.

I’ll make notes and continue to log on the app.

xx
