Progesterone
« on: June 13, 2021, 08:51:13 PM »

Hi , I’m about to start HRT , gel & progesterone. The menopause Dr has advised that I take progesterone before bed on an empty stomach , this might appear to be a silly question but does it really matter I’ve read that it can make people nauseous if taken with food .
Any advice please ?

I believe food can alter the dose you absorb so best to either stick to the instructions or use it vaginally when it doesn't matter when you eat.

Just don't worry too much about being exact and just take it at bedtime. Much is lost via digestion anyway unless used vaginally when more is absorbed as per sheila99.
