Utrogestan post menopausal
« on: April 22, 2021, 10:09:43 PM »

I’m confused regarding the taking of these pills days 1-25 then have a three day break when post menopause ?  Why are they just not taken continually ? I use two pumps of estrogel along with the utrogestan . Only been using this regime for about 3 weeks , and feel better already ! I was on femeston conti before and felt awful .

It's to allow a bleed if there's been any build up. Many people do use it daily but perhaps leave it a few months before doing so til you know you don't bleed.

My consultant said to take it continuously, no need to have the 3 day break.

hi there,
Im post meno ( 5 years) and take it continuously, 100mg capsule every night , vaginally, no probs. Hope it works for.
I wouldnt mix n match ie take it orally then vaginally etc  as you may get break through bleeding. Its best to stick to the way you can tolerate it best .
