Not enough?
« on: April 03, 2021, 03:57:59 AM »

Morning Ladies

Day 3 of progesterone part of Evorel and I'm really struggling again. I looked back to what I wrote last month when I replied to someone else's message and I had reported a cracking headache and upset stomach, and I'm exactly the same again  :-\

The first month of Evorel Sequi was bearable, but this month seems harder. In the oestrogen part I had nausea, I definitely don't feel it's supporting me as well downstairs, or in my overall mood. I feel a lot more down and a lot less me, more mood swings. Disturbed sleep too.

Am I right in thinking maybe it's not enough oestrogen? I changed over from Femoston 2/10 after a good year but a step up in headaches again (my nemesis)..even though there was less of a contrast, I actually felt better in the progesterone part of that tablet! The reason for the change was to see whether my symptoms were reduced on a patch rather than a pill.

If my headaches had increased on the Femoston, AND I still don't feel I have enough oestrogen on Evorel Sequi, what next? I really think my GP is going to lose patience with me. I tried Utrogestan and a separate oestrogen patch but I just felt rough. I did ask him last time we spoke about adding a pump of oestrogel on top of Femoston but he wasn't keen as it was away from the norm. I respect him as he explained why he can't just prescribe things against the guidelines.

I was hoping not to have to go down the private specialist route but maybe that's what it needs..

Does anyone have any pearls of wisdom please??

I'm like you and have had a rough 4/5 months with my hrt! Although I'm getting allergic reactions instead of it not work which makes me really sad!! Because femoston 1/10 was my saviour at the start!! My first few weeks were fabulous!! Then it all went downhill.

I just wanted to say your not alone in the worrying your doctor will get fed up! I'm the same! She has been so good! So sending you hugs on the whole doctor insecurity thing xox

Hi Tammie

Poor you, I was reading about your itchy arms...arrrgh!!! Fortunately not that kind of reaction here but what a pain, huh?
I'm also a big Femoston fan, when I got the right dose it literally changed me overnight.

I know you should be able to ask your GPs anything but it still makes me worry I'm being a nuisance and they will be rolling their eyes seeing my name come up on the call list! I just want to feel good again.

Thanks for the hugs, back atcha x

A menopause specialist would let you use Femoston and top up with gel, I know this because it has been suggested to me.

Hi Floo36

That is interesting... and gives me a bit of hope, as it's the only progesterone I can really get on with. The only other thing I haven't tried is levernogestrel but Femseven is out of stock till later this year. I guess we'll see what comes up first!!

Thank you x

Hello ladies.

At the beginning of this year I decided that I wanted to try HRT again and I was lucky enough to get an appointment with a menopause clinic. I think that for those of us who have yet to find the magic formula a specialist may be the way to go. Some GPs are great but it's unlikely that they will have the same breadth of experience.  I certainly feel more comfortable talking to someone who I know has seen it all before!

Take care everyone.
