Imedeen and HRT
« on: March 18, 2021, 08:10:21 PM »

Hi,

Some background: I am 48, peri and have been on HRT for over 2 years. I use 75mg of Estradiol patches and I had Mirena coil fitted a year ago.

13 days ago, I started to take Imedeen beauty tablets to give my skin some youth. I had a bleed 4 days in, followed by another bleed today. According to the Internet, Imedeen doesn't interfere with HRT. However, I don't think these bleeds can be a coincidence. Due to the Mirena, I haven't bled for nearly a year and this is very unusual.

What do you think Imedeed is doing? Somehow helped me to up my oestrogen levels and gave me some youth? I am very confused. Why would anyone have bleeds like that, due to higher or lower oestrogen? I feel fine in myself. Sleep and mood are ok.

Any info or personal experiences will be appreciated.

Kind Regards,

Imedeen contains soy,  soy can attach to the estrogen receptor with a lesser activity then estrogen itself. If can have anti- estrogenic properties and
if might interfere with HRT.

Thank you Alicess. My diet involves soy as well. In this case, you man I produce less oestrogen myself? Is it not recommended with HRT?
Websites don't say anything about this as I assume they would be silenced when money speaks.

Soy, as a phytoestrogen, can attach itself to the estrogen receptor like our own estrogen and the estrogen in HRT. But it has a much weaker action.
So it's possible that it will take the place of your own estrogen or HRT surpressing the stronger estrogen  That's why it can have anti-estrogenic properties. But for some women who are not on HRT it can have some benefits  like reducing hot flashes.

I hope this answers your question? There is still a lot of research on phytoestrogens but in my own experience it lowered my own estrogen; more hot flashes and sweats etc.

You could try reducing your soy intake and see what happens.

Thanks Alicess. I feel it increases my oestrogen as I have stomach cramps (I have endometriosis). Since my last message, I reduced the oestrogen on my hrt and stopped taking imedeen to reduce the oestrogen in my body. Started taking Imedeen again 6 days ago on lower oestrogen patches. All was ok until now but I have stomach cramps again. I feel this stuff is stronger than HRT. I stopped taking Imedeen again.

My moods and sleep have been better though...
