Hi.  Peri-menopause are the years leading up to The Change when periods stop completely.  We are advised that we are menopausal after 12-14 months with no bleeds.

Some find that keeping a mood/food/symptom diary of use.  Which HRT has been prescribed?

What did you take for the painful period?

Hi I think that as you are having injections of Prostap and on HRT it will be difficult to gauge if you are post menopause or not. Post menopause is classed as 12 months without a period but it is 12 months without a period and not having any hormonal treatment.

Can you tell us how old you are and where you were in menopause previously ? X

Hi  :)

I agree that if you are on prostap and HRT there is no way you can definitely be classed as post meno. My daughter in law is on this regime to try to counter the effects of endo so I do understand a little. If you can give us a bit more info we can hopefully give advice.

Hi Nanna1968,

If you don’t mind me asking  ::) how
Old are you?? From your name only I’d guess 53 but I might be jumping to conclusions, please forgive me if so  ;D

I am 55, have been on HRT for 3 years Estradot patches and a mirena, I too have had what’s classed as post meno bleeding and am having a hysteroscopy next Thursday. I’ve previously had UFE a for large fibroids and sadly they are back and have filled my uterus so that the lining isn’t visible hence the hysteroscopy to get a biopsy of the lining.

I asked my very experienced gynaecologist how they could say I was definitely post menopausal when I had a Mirena and HRT as how did they know I would have stopped having periods by now???
She said if you have HRT and that includes a progesterone that stops your bleeding it is purely based on age and as the age of menopause in the U.K. is around 51 then if your that or older you are automatically classed as post meno.
Hope that helps ??
