Hi

Had my biopsy on Tuesday after three weeks of spotting, and whilst there the doc also removed a fibroid. She was very upbeat about the scan results and thinks it will be treatable and non malignant.

The bleeding after the procedure was very light and everything seemed clear for a day or so.  However, today the dark brown spotting has started up again and is more plentiful than it was before.  Ok, maybe that's expected, but just now I passed what looked like tissue, about the size of the tip of your little finger. It didn't seem to be a clot, but I've never seen anything like it before.  And this was followed by more very unpleasant, sticky brown goo.  Sorry, this is gross.

I feel ok in myself - not feverish, no heavy bleeding (I don't even need to wear a pad), but should I be worried about this?  I did look it up online and tissue discharge isn't unheard of, but it isn't usual either.  It's always a flippin' friday night when you're on your own that this sort of thing happens....

Don't worry, I had this too and it's just,as you say,old bits of tissue,I had a lot of "gunk" (for want of a better word) afterwards, how did they remove the fibroid? They can just grow back again btw

This may sound bonkers but I don't know how she removed it.  I went into the room for a biopsy and whilst she was rummaging around in there she said she could see a fibroid and just removed it within seconds for me.  I've seen online that you get water pumped into you and all that kind of stuff - that definitely didn't happen.

I'm assuming that was a hysteroscopy but there was no water and I'm not even sure she had a long stick with a camera. She said the fibroid was obstructing her way so I guess it was pretty near the entrance.

I wish I could just come off HRT and let this excess lining bleed out but she advised me not to because I'm going through a stressful time and she said going cold turkey would just add to it.  :-(

To be honest, clearing black and brown gunk away every time I go to the loo is stress in itself I could do without.
