I have been using Estring and Estriol cream successfully for the past 5 years, about 8 weeks ago I changed the Estring and by the end of the first week I began to have terrible pain and stinging, I spoke to the the Nurse practitioner and she told me to remove it, to cut a long story short I continued with the Estriol cream and the symptoms were still there.  I have now stopped using both and the burning and stinging has somewhat lessened, I think I may have become allergic to them both, I'm so upset as it had stopped me from getting multiple UTI's and urgency.  I've been reduced to tears this morning as I don't know what to do, can anyone help?

Some have found 'yes' and/or 'sylc' products helpful on the outer areas, have a lookC at the threads here.  I believe that 1 mayB able to get freebies initially ;-).

Have you any KY Jelly, maybe use that for a few nights instead of the 'estriol'?  One doesn't become allergic usually, although fillers can be problematic: I doubt after this time though : but if the area has become dry then it may well sting ! After a few nights try using the 'estriol' cream on the outer labia and as far inside as you can.  Little steps.

Margaret, I don't have a ready answer to this, but the best place for advice is the private Vaginal Atrophy Facebook support group. Do you use any moisturiser, and have you been checked for any other conditions, such as an infection, or vulval skin condition?
