Really struggling at the moment
« on: February 19, 2021, 10:48:04 AM »

I am really struggling at the moment  , I feel exhausted  , have no energy and no motivation. I have had quite a lot of stress in the last year, and have worked throughout the lockdown.
I have a constant ache in my left side , which makes my hip ache . I have a fibroid thats about 3cm and the last scan described my womb as bulky. I have changed gp  as we have moved areas.  The new gp  wants me to go for another scan but I will have to wait. I am worried that something is wrong.
I am on HRT . I take utrogestin 200mg from day 15 to 26 I take it  vaginally . I also take estraderm 75 patches. I have struggled a bit with the utrogestin , and the  gp has suggested I have the mirena fitted. I just don't know what to do. I feel a bit lost .
I feel that my symptoms  are getting worse , and I feel low. My period is late this month and my cycle appears to be getting longer each month . I have always had  hormone issues and was diagnosed with PMDD. I feel those symptoms have  now collided with the menopause  , and I am just wondering when its all going to stop. I am 56. The gp was going to refer me to a clinic but that didnt happen because of lockdown.
The new gp has offered anti-depressants  but I'm not sure about this . I am very snappy and irritable and I have no sex drive. . Just need some advise  please . :'( :'(

I have just watched a video from Dr Newson and she explains everything in great detail and it is a very informative talk,if you Google my menopause Dr you should find it there.
Have you looked up diverticulitis? It can give pain along the left side but is quite a normal  complaint at this age,of course I'm not saying that's what it is but just a suggestion x

When did you have the scan?  Your new GP should be able to ask for the results to be e-mailed from your other Surgery.  I think there is facility to look at scans on line? perhaps he could ring the Dept where you had the scan, will it be in the same Hospital?

Do you take pain relief 4 the left sided pain? Sometimes when I get indigestion I have referred pain in all kinds of odd places!

You won't be lost now that you are here  ;).  Some find that keeping a symptom/food/mood diary of use.

thank you for the replies  !! :) The scan was 18 months ago ,an dit showed a small cyst (which they said was nothing  to worry about ) also a fibroid  and they described my womb as bulky. They said there was nothing to be concerned about . However ,in the last few months I have having pain on the left side ,and it feels like its in my hip bone.
My psychological  mood symptoms also seem much worse currently ,and I am just not sure what to to next. xx

Is it over the hip bone on the outer side, I sometimes feel like a muscle is tight = painful in that area.

How much exercise do you take?  I know that I don't walk enough  :-\.

I wonder why your GP needs another scan, I would ring to ask.

Jogging is bad for humans  ;D - mayB cut back on either how far or how often you run?  Impacting can aggravate any muscles that may have been 'pulled' in other ways, so that we become more aware.  I have a muscle under my belly button which when I've picked up sacks of compost, I become aware of the next day  ::) which freaks me a bit, until I remember  :D

I've been a runner for years and clkd is right...... to a certain extent  ;D,some folks can run and it never affects them,I used to see a lady who was well into her 70s running and she did it almost every day, then there's me and have had chronic feet problems because of it,even buying the best trainers you can get,so yes, please be careful as it can cause a lot of issues with the bones and joints xx

Doesn't stop you 'struggling' though jaypo?  Brisk walking, pause; take in the scenery; breath deeply; run.  Good quality foot wear is essential.

As oestrogen levels drop so muscles may become lax = aches and pains.
