Tnx.  We will get the Motel to make sandwiches for us to take, which will save being out and about in the rain  ;D.  We take the van so that we have a loo .......... and cuppa facilities.

Wales is lovely.  Very green, due to the rain ;-)

I love my holidays and no covid is keeping me at home this year  ::) I’ve booked a cruise that only stops in the UK, you cannot get off the ship unless you are on a ship excursion, it’ll be my first time in Scotland  :) an excursion to Loch Lomond  :)

Before we get on the ship we have to be either fully vaccinated or have a test within 72 hours of departure AND pass a negative test in the departure lounge, I’m happy with these requests and also happy to be on a brand new ship with only 1/6 passengers onboard, shouldnt have trouble getting a nice seat in the bars, oh yes its all inclusive drinks  ;D

Oh TH that's fab,we're off on Cunard in July for four days just around Cornwall,no getting off and everyone has to have proof of two vaccinations, also sailing at half capacity, can't wait .
You will LOVE Loch Lomond,it's absolutely stunning, where else does it stop? Is the ship Iona ?

Its really exotic.... Portland, Liverpool, Belfast and Greenock but all places ive not been.  Its not Iona its MSC Virtuosa, I really wouldn’t book this ship at full capacity but because its up to 1000 passengers I’m up for it  ;D and its a good deal.  Im also looking at Celebrity to the Ornkneys later in the summer, again somewhere  I’d probably never get to unless on a cruise but looks beautiful.

Are you on one of the Cunard sailings with a celebrity speaker ?

...... who usually speak 4 one or two sessions depending on how long the cruise is for.  Not every night!

Passport at the ready then?  It's a different country after all ..........  :whist:

Oh nooooooo,Greenock,oh TH DONT get off there,it's an absolute dump with a capital D but if you go on a trip,go on one that takes you across on the ferry at Gourock, I guarantee the best views ever,we have a home over there and it's stunning(the views not our home  ;D )
We have Jennie Bond on our trip,so that might be interesting
Off again (maybe)on Cunard  in September, back up to Norway but I think you can only get off the ship with excursions,so not to happy about that as I've done them all already.
Haha clkd, one day I'll need a bleepin passport to get into my own country  >:(

Our Loch Lomond trip is from Greenock, the details say we will return on the ferry  :) and a stop in Rest and be thankful.

Oh yes she should be interesting, Dr Hillary Jones is on Princess I think, I have visions of him being asked “can you have a quick look at my .....” when he’s onboard, of maybe theyll have to have announcements Dr Hillary is not doing consultations in the buffett  ;D

We have cruise to the Canary Islands in September, moved from last year, I’m hoping it goes ahead.

Rest and Be Thankful is lovely - if the road hasn't been washed away.  Again  :o

Take a decent camera with you TH I guarantee you won't be disappointed, like clkd says the rest and be thankful road has been shut more than open,it's the road we take to get to our house.
Glad you're going from Greenock but close your eyes going through it  ;D

The Scottish government has refused to allow the ship we are booked on from docking.  Everyone on board is tested for covid at the port before being allowed on and then every couple of days whilst onboard.  The ships excursions are coach trips with no meeting with non cruise passengers except the coach  driver.

So it isnt looking promising for me to set foot in Scotland  :(

Lots of very unhappy Scottish people on the forums who were due to join the ship today, most are unhappy about Scotland allowing anyone in if they arrive by road with no covid checks being done  :-\

Bloody Nicola sturgeon, she's a little dictator,it's NOT HER country,so I'm not sure why this is being allowed, you would only be going to the level 1 areas anyway, how infuriating for everyone  >:(
