Thanks Tinkerbell and Taz2,
I'm 46,47 in Oct.
See that's what I don't get, all the symptoms I'm having are as described for VA. Only 1 worrying me most I guess is the cramping pains in ovary area? It's like there's a period happening but it isn't!
Could this all be down to the fact my period hasn't shown up and I'm having cramps from a missed period but no bleeding!?
I know I'm clutching at straws but it's worrying me and I'm a bit scared if I'm honest. I'd convinced myself they'd say yep it's VA and that'd be it. 😔

The GP today was female doc probably about the same age as me.

Thanks Joaniepat, I will have a look on there. 😁

I had just turned 40 and my first signs of peri was VA, it took almost a year before this was considered, like others I was told it’s only post meno.  It has taken over 18 months of daily Vagifem for it to get 80% better, the Vagifem was only suggested to me finally by my lovely practice nurse who seemed to be far more knowledgeable. This notion it’s only post meno really needs to changed, as so many of us are denied treatment taking it far longer to recover.

I think my VA started mid 40s and this kept being mis diagnosed as thrush for a long time, I would ask for a referral or just see another doctor at the practice for second opinion you’re well within your rights to do so, I wasn’t dry internally either and I think I didn’t realise it was peri menopause related, it was all external symptoms. It was a long time before anyone mentioned VA and I think that was a locum doctor.

Thankyou Peripurple and Mummy Clanger.
The doctor said she thought I was perimenopausal and wouldn't need anything for another 3 or 4 years yet. But I just don't get why she seemed so adamant.
I'm in pain again tonight after being prodded and poked down there. The ovary ache pain is bad again too. 😔
The only other doctor at the practice isn't there at the moment, we only have 1 doctor and a nurse practitioner with a student doctor.
I have so many symptoms of perimenopause it's plainly obvious but it feels like no one believes me. I'm fed up of new symptoms occurring.
I've just been looking back thru my period tracker app, I log any symptoms in there, have done since Sept 2016.Its mad how many things I've noted and how when I look at it now things that make so much sense being peri symptoms.

Lalb1 we are twins! I too have the tilted cervix which i never realised until a couple of years ago. I also started with va whilst perimenooausal and also used to be sore and wee more just before my periods. Vagifem sorted me for a while but now use estriol cream which is messy but fab

Meno woman 😁
I always knew I'd got a problem with my placement of bits and pieces as I had problems with both births of my sons.
I am going to try the yes moisturising cream she's prescribed, but will also see what else I can use. I just want to feel better.
The horrible cramps have eased a lot, still an odd niggle but nothing like this time last week. Still haven't had a period. So now I'm 2 weeks over what I'd have expected one to show up. Haven't had a period now since mid Dec.
And just to add to all the uncomfortableness I think I have developed piles! 🤦‍♀️
Sitting about definitely isn't good for me.
