My hysterectomy was key hole operation. I was up and walking 12 hours later and using the toilet.
Not the worst pain I’ve been in after a operation. The worst pain for me was the gas leaving my body. When they operate they blow your stomach up with gas, as the gas leaves your body it travels up and out the shoulders. Peppermint tea is a must have and really does help with the gas pain.
The other discomfort is your body parts moving back into place, like your colon and ovaries etc, which feels uncomfortable.

In the past I’ve had ovarian cyst and got a big 10cm cut across my stomach, that was very very painful.
But hysterectomy I was surprised as i thought the pain would be a lot worse.
Best of luck
