Hi I’m peri and just about to turn 41. I started HRT a couple of months ago. You say you don’t fancy the coil- just wondering why. I had a Mirena fitted 8 years ago and thinks it’s great. The hormone is localised in your uterus so hardly any enters your blood stream so the chances of side effects are minimal compared to other progesterone sources. I get no side effects apart from it’s stopped my periods which to be honest I quite like, I can do without those!!!
HRT for those of us who are quite young us but only possible to actually there’s an awful lot of research to show that it’s necessity for protecting against osteoporosis, heart disease, diabetes, dementia etc. I had to fight my gp to get it but I got it because I did loads of research and knew exactly what I was talking about when I spoke to her.
You need to go on Dr Louise Newson’s website
https://www.menopausedoctor.co.uk/There’s absolutely loads of info about why us young ones should use HRT - she’s the current leader in the uk at the moment for interpreting all the new research for us non medical types!
If it’s ruining your life don’t take no for an answer. I was all ready to book a private appointment it was getting me down so much. I felt the positive effects of HRT within a week!
